Marlene Tidwell
Author of one of Tennessee’s official poems, Marlene grew up on a farm in a rural town in Tennessee. Her journey of writing began as a child on the front porch as she gazed upon the beauty that surrounded her. Gathering her notebook and pen she headed to the edge of the porch where she dreamed and dared to pen the language of her heart to paper.
In her book, Nature Sings, she captures the beauty and essence of nature, and a wide array of subjects through the expression of vivid images.
Poet Reviews
Margaret Britton Vaughan, Poet Laureate of Tennessee
“Nature Sings it’s story in the poems of Marlene Tidwell. The melody is familiar to all who hear her words. You can hum along with each line.”
Matt Fontana, Co-author, Whispers of Madmen
“In every word and line of Nature Sings, Marlene Tidwell ‘s poetry showcases both her desire and her talent for capturing nature and its seasons, each at their most beautiful moments. From the careless dance of autumn leaves to the fresh scent of air after an evening rain, and the sweet echo of a single dove serenading the woods, Marlene’s gifts as both keen observer and skillful wordsmith come through time and again, filling the canvas of each reader’s imagination with portraits of beauty, nostalgia, and sheer delight.”
